Environmental Policy

In its pursuit of "providing world class products", Brush Transformers Limited is committed to the protection of the environment in all aspects of its operations.

We recognise that the nature of our business affects the environment by virtue of its processes, use of materials and the energy consumed, and we wish to minimise the potential harmful effects of such activities wherever and whenever possible.

As part of our corporate policy of continuous improvement, a management system to review, plan and implement sustainable environmental improvements has been installed, monitored and measured.

It is our aim to protect the health, safety and welfare of our employees, contractors, customers and the general public, whilst contributing to the well being of the environment.

Brush Transformers is committed to a programme of continuous improvement including environmental performance. This policy is available to all sectors of the public.

In particular, Brush Transformers will:-

• Meet and where appropriate exceed relevant legislative requirements.
• Minimise waste, re-use materials where possible, recycle materials and promote recycling programmes.
• Design energy efficiency into new products and seek to manage existing energy resources efficiently
• Reduce emissions to the most practicable level.
• Market products which are safe to use, using materials efficiently, which can be re-used, recycled or disposed of safely.
• Work with our suppliers to help minimise the effects of their operations on the environment.
• Monitor and minimise the effect our operations.
• Control any contractors that are working for or on Brush Transformers premises.
• Support the promotion of environmental protection through the local energy and environmental groups.
• Include environmental issues in any Brush Transformers training plans and inductions.
• Inform and involve Brush Transformers personnel and other site companies in the objectives, action plans and achievements.
• Monitor progress in an attempt to demonstrate our commitment to continuous improvement.
